Choosing the Right Materials for Your Graphics Kit

When customizing your graphics kit, you have two main choices: the premium base and the premium finish. These materials determine how your graphics will look and feel, helping you create a design that truly stands out. Below, we explain the differences and how to choose the best options for your bike.

How a Graphics Kit is Built

A graphics kit is made up of two layers:

  1. The Base Material – This is where the graphics are printed, and it determines how colors will appear.
  2. The Finish (Lamination) – This protects the graphics and adds the final look, such as gloss, glitter, or matte effects.

The base material affects the way colors behave. For example, printing on chrome creates a metallic effect, while a holographic base makes colors shift depending on the light. If you choose a full fluo base, the colors are so bright that only black can be printed on top. Fluo bases come in pink, yellow, and red.

The finish layer can further enhance your design. The most popular option, holographic glitter, is barely noticeable in the shade but shines like frost on a winter morning when hit by direct light.

Premium Base Options

The premium base layer is what determines the overall look of the kit. Every color printed will take on the effect of the chosen base, except for black and white.

  • Regular – A high-quality standard print with no special effects.
  • Full Chrome – A highly reflective, metallic look where all colors turn into a chrome finish.
  • Full Holographic – Changes colors depending on the viewing angle and lighting for a striking effect. This base could be explained as a full chrome, that changes color.
  • Full Fluo – Extremely bright colors are available in pink, yellow, and red. Due to its high vibrancy, only black can be printed over a fluo base.

The most common premium base choice is Full Chrome, as it works well with many different designs.

Premium Finish Options

The finish layer determines how the graphics reflect light and how the surface feels.

  • Glossy – A sleek, high-shine finish.
  • Holographic Glitter – A sparkling, color-shifting effect that becomes visible in direct sunlight.
  • Silver or Gold Glitter – Adds metallic sparkles, enhancing the look with a premium touch.
  • Matte – A deep, non-reflective finish for a modern and sophisticated look.

Both glossy and glitter finishes offer the same level of shine, but glitter only appears under direct lighting, creating a dynamic effect. It makes your bike look normal in regular lighting but pops with sparkle in the sun. This effect is most noticeable in environments such as garage lighting, sunsets, or strong directional light.

If you prefer a matte finish, avoid pairing it with a full holographic base, as it cancels out the holographic effect. Instead, matte works best with a Full Chrome base for a high-end, refined appearance.

A glitter finish is one of the most affordable ways to take your bike to the next level, giving it a subtle but stunning effect when exposed to the right lighting.
